ROSETTE

Rosette is a Richmond-based string quartet comprised of four women who love to make meaningful connections through music. From a bring-your-own-beer house show featuring Bartók’s Third String quartet, to a Woman Crush Wednesday program at an art gallery, to a collaboration with the Indian classical vocalist Saili Oak, Rosette has been creating unique concert experiences for Richmonders since 2015. 

Rosette is: Ellen Cockerham Riccio and Treesa Gold, violins; Kimberly Ryan, viola; and Stephanie Barrett, cello.

THALES PIANO TRIO

Formed in 2016, the Thales (THAY-lees) Piano Trio has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic region in venues ranging from concert halls to churches to living rooms. Comprised of pianist Daniel Stipe, violinist Ellen Cockerham Riccio and cellist Sara Bennett Wolfe, the trio has brought their sensitive and exciting performance style to audiences in Richmond, VA, Cape May, NJ, Norwalk, CT, and Washington College in Maryland.

Since first performing together at Richmond’s Trinity Lutheran Church in 2013, Ellen and Daniel have become frequent recital partners. The duo has appeared on Trinity’s concert series, the Forest Hill Recital Series, and the Belz-Parker Artists Ascending concert series in Memphis, TN.

NON-CLASSICAL COLLABORATIONS

Rosette, Ellen’s string quartet, frequently collaborates with Miramar, a group that draws its inspiration from the golden age of romantic music, primarily that of the Latin American genre known as the bolero. Ellen has also appeared with salsa orchestra Bio Ritmo, jazz saxophonist Charles Owens, and has been recorded extensively by Spacebomb Studios with artists such as Natalie Prass, Matthew E. White, and Bedouine. She met her husband, percussionist Giustino Riccio, at a recording session for Bio Ritmo at Minimum Wage Recording.
